It’s a New Year and time for new giveaways. I’ve got dozens of certificates for restaurants, cooking classes and wine. And I’m anxious to give them away. So I’m going to be holding weekly drawings, maybe even more frequently.

This week’s prize: a $50 gift certificate to the fabulous Park Plaza Gardens on Winter Park’s Park Avenue. Drawing will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. Winners must respond by 9 a.m. Monday or the certificate will be assigned to a new drawing. (That’s sort of the new age equivalent of “must be present to win,” I guess.)

The rules are the same as last year: all you have to do to be eligible to win is sign up for my occasional newsletter. That’s it. Once you’ve signed up, you’re registered for all future drawings. As an added bonus, the newsletter recipients are the first to know about SJO Deals. Last month the SJO Deal for a gift certificate to K Restaurant sold out before I could make a public announcement. They were all snatched up by people who got the newsletter announcing the deal. (By the way, I’ve got some incredible Deals coming up, so be watching your inbox. Here’s a hint: the announcements come usually on Wednesdays or Thursdays in the morning.)
