Hot Olives, the casual restaurant that started out in the Hannibal Square district of Winter Park then moved to Fairbanks Avenue and New York Avenue, will close after dinner service Saturday, June 29. According to general manager Roy Ketchum “the numbers just didn’t work” in the larger space. “We’re more of a boutique restaurant,” he added.
The restaurant has been in business for 14 years, first in Hannibal Square in the space now occupied by Armando’s, then in the former Sunset Grill space on Fairbanks where it moved two years ago. That space was mosre recently the home of Ole Ole.
Ketchum said the owners are looking for a place to relocate but did not have any prospects at the moment. Hot Olives employs approximately 20 people.
