All American Cafe is Moving; New Barbecue Restaurant Holy Smoke is Neighbor

New home for All American Cafe is a former Beef O’Brady’s on Curry Ford Road.

All American Cafe, the multiple Foodie Award winner for best breakfast, has closed the little building on the corner of Ferncreek and Kaley Avenues and will reopen later this month in the Winn Dixie Plaza on Curry Ford Road about a half mile away. All American will take over a space that had previously been a Beef O’Brady’s restaurant. December 29th was the last day at the previous location, which was so small that most seating was outdoors.

That Winn Dixie Plaza, 2904 Curry Ford Road, at Crystal Lake, is becoming something of a haven for independent restaurants. It has long been home to a Gabriel’s Subs, and in the past couple of years it has seen the opening of the Catfish Joint and Theo’s Kitchen, itself a relocation from a nearby neighborhood. And just in the past few weeks a new barbecue restaurant, Holy Smoke BBQ, opened in a former Eckerd’s drug store space.

All American’s new spot will offer a larger facility and ample parking, which was always a premium at the old location. What might be missing with the new place, however, is the outdoor dining that regulars appreciate.

All American Cafe’s owners hope to have the restaurant open be mid January.

As for Holy Smoke BBQ, I’ll have a review in the next few weeks.
