If you know Il Mulino New York, you’re going to be surprised by Il Mulino New York Trattoria. You'll also be disappointed.

But if you've never been to the original -- and if you ever get the chance you really should go -- you'll find the food here pleasant enough.

The dentice and veal saltimbocca are good. So is the pasta fagioli.

Although the name means the fisherman, it was never meant to be a seafood restaurant, and in fact seafood was never its forte. The name was merely an homage to the original owner's childhood on the waters of his native Sicily.... Read more

The available dishes are on display behind glass in a steam table. Don't be intimidated by them; any of the ladies will be glad to explain what they are, but do pay special attention to the more authentic Filipino dishes. After all, there are darned few Filipino restaurants in the area, and you can get spaghetti at thousands of places around town (and yes, spaghetti is on Inay's menu).... Read more

Scott's Review
Iron Cow is rather a large place that in early evening hours (it opens most days at 6 p.m.) it looks like a big empty warehouse with a bar and kitchen set up on one side. Indeed, the business' own description calls it "a modern industrial warehouse merging food, beverage and music..." (Nothing comes after the ellipses, so I don't know what we're to infer from them.)... Read more

Scott's Review

Really good sushi, if somewhat unorthodox. For something really special try the restaurant’s namesake Izziban roll. It has tempura shrimp and asparagus with cream cheese rolled in rice. The cream cheese alone would be enough to give sushi purists the shudders. But then the chef topped the sliced sushi coins with a sauce of sorts comprised of mayonnaise, fish eggs, crab and cheese, baked so the cheese was melted and the sauce hot. Unusual, and amazingly delicious. If you’re a purist, you’ll find the traditional items just as satisfying.

Scott's Review
This is undoubtedly the largest sushi restaurant I’ve ever seen. Izziban Sushi & BBQ occupies a warehouse sized building on the shore of Lake Barton, which lies between Semoran Boulevard and Orlando Executive Airport. There have been a few failed businesses here, including a gay bar. There is an immense indoor dining area and a couple of very large sushi bars, including one that is shaped like the bow of a big boat. There is also a large covered patio, screened in but with nice views of the lake and planes taking off from the airport. Its rusticity is more suitable for the type of fried foods you’d find at fish camps, but it isn’t inappropriate for sushi to be associated with a waterfront locale. And sushi isn’t all that is done here. The kitchen food menu is also rather sizable, and if you so choose, your table can be the kitchen, as most of them have built-in griddles and devices that can be used for grilling meats or hot-pot cooking. The cuisines range from Japanese to Korean.... Read more
