Food & Wine Event Will Benefit Haiti

I’m once again hosting the cooking stage for the Central Florida Home & Garden Show at the Convention Center, March 19-21. And I’ve lined up some terrific chefs. I’ll be telling you more about them soon. But I want to tell you about the special event we’ll be hosting Saturday evening, March 20.

We’re partnering with the folks at Rosen hotels to sponsor a fundraising event called “Homeowners for Haiti.” The money raised will help send home — actual structures — the the area devestated by earthquakes. We’ve planned a terrific event that will include some of the top chefs from Rosen restaurants, including Cala Bella and Everglades. Plus we’ve got lots of wines we’ll be pouring. I promise you there will be plenty of food and drink, much more than the $25 ticket price would lead you to expect.

That ticket, by the way, will get you in to the Home & Garden Show as well. So you can come out to the convention center early, stroll around the hall, then come to the Homeowners for Haiti event. I’m going to have the chefs on the stage talking about the food, and we’ll get some wine and food pairing tips as well. The menu is still being hashed out (no there won’t be any hash, it’s just a figure of speech) but I do know that Everglades will be doing its wonderful lamb chops. Heck, you could get your money’s worth just eating those.

I hope you’ll come out and join me. It’s going to be a fun event, and all the money will go to this worthy cause. You’ll even get a chance to see the Little Haiti House on display.

Here’s a link to the ticket sales site. When you get there, type in the code haitihouse to purchase the event tickets. Attendance will be limited, so don’t wait.

I’ll see you there.
