Written By Scott Joseph On January 7, 2010

The Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association has awarded Jean-Louis its title of Hotelier of the Year. The hyphenated-first-jean_louis_cropname-only chef and director of culinary services at the Royal Plaza is the association’s first chef to win the distinction.
Past winners include Thea Sargent, general manager of Disney’s Contemporary Resort in 2008 and Peter Kacheris, general manager of Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin for 2007. Kacheris is now gm at Orlando’s Waldorf-Astoria.
Before joining Royal Plaza, Jean-Louis was executive chef at Kessler’s Celebration Hotel and Sheraton Studio City.
CFHLA (cfhla.org) is the world’s largest regional hotel association boasting more than 115,000 hotel rooms and 25,000 timeshare units.
