Wine tasting event will be a first for 2009 Gay Days event

Written By Scott Joseph On June 2, 2009

This year’s Gay Days will feature a food and wine event, a first for the week-long gathering. Lush-a-Licous will take place Wednesday, June 3, at the International Plaza Resort & Spa, 10100 International Drive. Tickets are $20 in advance or $30 the day of the event and proceeds will benefit the Orlando Youth Alliance (although no youth will be allowed: the tasting is open only to those 21-years and older). The tasting is from 5 to 9 p.m.

International Plaza’s kitchens are providing the food — cheeses, imported meats, salmon rosetted, seared scallops and goat cheese empanadas, among other items. The wines poured will be mostly from California with some relatively obscure labels mixed in with some favorites (that’s the fun part of a wine tasting, trying something you haven’t heard of before). Participating wineries include Beringer, Azur, Inman Family, Bouchaine, O’Brien Estate, Barefoot Wine and others.

Tickets are still available and can be obtained, along with more information, by visiting the official Web site.
