Whataburger to close Central Florida locations

Written By Scott Joseph On May 28, 2009

Nation’s Restaurant News is reporting the Whataburger chain is closing all of its Central Florida locations by the end of the month (that would be about now). The article says the closings include five burgeries in the Tampa / Orlando market, but Whataburger’s Web site shows only a location on Commodity Circle in Orlando. Whataburger had big plans for Florida when it first entered the state about four years ago. The company had plans for the Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville area to have 110 stores. Wataburgers elsewhere in Florida will stay open beyond May, the article said.
