Ocean Prime Orlando will start serving at Rialto Saturday

Written By Administrator On November 13, 2008

Ocean Prime, an upscale “supper club” that specializes in seafood (Ocean) and steaks (Prime) will open a Ocean Prime new restaurant Saturday, Nov. 15, at the still developing Rialto on Sand Lake Road’s Restaurant Row in Orlando. (This is where J. Alexander’s is located.)

Ocean Prime is owned by Columbus, Ohio-based Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. Cameron Mitchell might sound familiar to those of you who follow news of Ruth’s Chris because the Lake Mary-headquartered steakhouse purchased a couple of CamMitch concepts in February. Ocean Prime isn’t one of them.

According to a press release, ” Ocean Prime embodies the sleek sophistication of the modern American supper club and delivers on a promise of unforgettable cuisine,” which, of course, tells you nothing. And I’m not going to start guessing what it means. We’ll just have to wait and see.

I can tell you that the chef is Jason Shelley, and his menu features such items as Chilean Sea Bass with glazed carrots and a Champagne truffle sauce, Ginger Salmon with stir-fried snap peas and a soy butter sauce, and Park Farms Amish Chicken with asparagus and lemon pan jus.

Meat selections include: 7 oz. and 10 oz. Filet Mignons; 12 oz. Bone-in Filet; 14oz. New York Strip; 16 oz. Kansas City Rib Eye; 22 oz. Porterhouse; and a 12 oz. Rack of Lamb.
Ocean Prime will serve dinner: Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m.; and Sunday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Guests will also find live music in the piano bar nightly. Reservations may be made by calling 407-781-4880 or go to Ocean Prime’s Web site.
