Meat at the Polling Place

Ron Woodsby wants you to vote Tuesday, a not altogether bad idea. So Woodsby, owner of Talk of the Town Restaurants, which operates Charley’s Steak House, FishBones, Vito’s Chop House and Moonfish, plus a few more, has launched a $50,000 campaign to encourage you to go to the polls. One Monday and Tuesday, restaurant employees will be at key corners in Orlando, St. Petersburg, Lakeland, Tampa, Celebration and Lake Mary with “Take a Steak in America” signs to encourage people to vote. In addition, he has rented some of those electronic billboards in those communities with the same message. Employees will also hand out bumper stickers that read “America’s at Steak – I voted” at select polling places. To his credit, Woodsby isn’t suggesting whom you should vote for, which is as it should be. Get as many votes as you can and the majority indeed rules.
