A new 253-room hotel is slated to begin bedding down travelers on November 22, and it plans to feed them in a Shula’s brand restaurant.
The hotel is named the Westin Lake Mary, Orlando North, and, just as the name says, it is in Lake Mary, north of Orlando. It is owned by YRG Hotel and managed by Yedla Management Company Inc.
The hotel’s restaurant will be a Shula’s 347 Grill to be headed by chef Robert Luckhart. The restaurant gets its name from the number of victories in the career of Hall of Fame coach Don Shula.
The menu features only three steaks — branded Shula Cut steaks — that have made Shula’s Steakhouses so popular. The majority of the menu is more casual fare, including sandwiches, salads and “signature entrees” of wild mushroom ravioli, seared ha tuna, pecan crusted salmon and pan-seared chicken, among others.
Expect a more casual, almost sports bar sort of atmosphere, too, with granite-topped tables, pigskin walls (really?) and plenty of flat-panel televisions.
There currently are seven other Shula’s 347 Grills, including Jacksonville and Tallahassee.
