Chef Henry’s to reopen in Central Florida

Written By Scott Joseph On September 8, 2009

Chef Henry’s, the award-winning Eastern European restaurant, will reopen in the space recently vacated by Journeys. It was only recently that the family business, headed by Henry Brestowski and his wife, Estera, sold the restaurant they had operated in recent years on Howell Branch Road stating a desire to return to Eastern Europe. That space is now occupied by the similarly named Chef Hans Cafe.

The new Chef Henry’s, which does not yet have a definite opening date, takes over the Longwood location vacated when Journeys became Journeys of Alaqua the summer. The restaurant is located in Longwood Village Shoppes at State Road 434 and I-4.

No further details are known, but I certainly hope the menu has leber dumpling soup and that Estera’s apple strudel in on the dessert list. Her strudel was one of the first Foodie Award winners.
