An invitation to see “Julie & Julia” — as our guest!

Written By Scott Joseph On June 26, 2009

Julie and Julia posterThe movie that all foodies have been waiting for this summer is Julie & Julia, which stars Meryl Streep as Julia Child. I’ll just wait a moment while you try to imagine that. Julia Child’s voice is the only accent Streep hasn’t tried yet. And you don’t have to imagine it — check out the trailer for the movie below. I think it looks like a lot of fun.

And here’s the deal: The Divas of Dish and Scott Joseph’s Orlando Restaurant Guide are co-hosting a private advance screening of the movie on Thursday, July 23, at the Winter Park Regal theaters. The movie doesn’t open nationwide until August 7, so this is your chance to see it before everyone else. And for free.

Yep, the Divas and I are giving away tickets to the screening. We have to fill the entire auditorium, so we have a lot of tickets available. They’ll be doled out by way of a drawing. Here’s all you have to do:

The drawing will be for a pair of tickets to the July 23d screening at 7:30 p.m.. Sorry, they can’t be used at any other time. To be entered in the drawing, you must be registered at Scott Joseph’s Orlando Restaurant Guide. That’s free, too, and easy. You’ll find a link to the registration form on the right side of the front page just under where it says “Become a member.” For those of you already registered, you’re already entered. Be sure to register before July 15th. Diva Pam and I will conduct the drawing on July 16th and notify the winners by the e-mail address left when registering.

If you haven’t heard about the movie, which also stars Amy Adams, take a look at the trailer below. Hope to see you at the screening.
