You can ease into Magical Dining this year with Sip & Savor, a promotion from Orlando’s Main Street Districts running Aug. 8 through 21. During that time, restaurants and bars within the 10 districts will offer food and drink specials. There are no set rules or even set menus such as you’ll find with MagDin, but you might find a special deal on a popular entree, such as Caramelized Cauliflower with Local Whipped Goat Cheese for $10 at The Chef & I (Ivanhoe District) or 25 percent off all taps at Pour House (Mills 50). You can see all the participating restaurants and drinking venues at the Sip & Savor website.
By the way, there’s a new district in town – West Lakes, which encompasses the area surrounding the Bowl formerly known as Citrus.

FaZe Subs from FaZe Clan is one of the newest concepts to join Virtual Dining Concepts, the not-a-ghost-kitchen operation from Orlando’s Earl Enterprises. FaZe Clan is a ”lifestyle and media platform rooted in gaming and youth culture,” so I’m guessing that if you knew that you’re too young to take advantage of Sip & Savor’s drink specials. FaZe Subs is also partnering with DoorDash for exclusive delivery, presumably because Fazers are also too young to drive. Someone who goes by the name FaZe Rug and is one of the Clan’s “largest and most-viewed content creators has leant his name to one of the subs, The Rugfather. My mouth is watering. Amy Drew Thompson at the Sentinel reports that Eliot Hillis and Seth Parker are, um, slicing themselves away from Orlando Meats to open Red Panda, a noodleteria concept. Location hasn’t been announced yet but you can expect some popup events until the permanent space is available. Orlando Meats will soldier on, presumably.
By the way, one of O-Meats’ neighbors is Anejo Cocina Mexicana, and I’ll have my review of it tomorrow. So don’t touch that dial – a phrase FaZers have never heard.
