Mexican restaurants, Hangry Bison update, Mango's re-lives and a peachy drink.
Cork & Fork, the Belle Isle restaurant in the strip at Conway Road and Hoffner Avenue, will become an El Potro Mexican Restaurant, the chainlet’s fourth. EP’s website says that it will happen in fall 2021. This seems like a good time to mention that winter begins Dec. 21.
Speaking of Mexican restaurants, Cantina Catrina, a South Florida restaurant, plans to open at Florida Mall in winter 2021, according to the mall’s website. I don’t know if that means they will open in the 10 days following Dec. 21 or if the winter target buys them time until spring (March 22). The only existing Cantina Catrina – can we just call it Cantrina? – is at Dadeland Mall, so apparently the owners like to go where the shoppers are. But the Florida Mall location, rendering at top, at least will not be in the food court. Excuse me – dining pavilion. It will be at the entrance and will offer indoor and outdoor dining.
Hangry Bison had hoped to open its Winter Garden location before the end of the year, but according to owner Joe Liguori the delays are due to the worldwide supply chain snafu. Equipment that was promised months ago is just trickling in. Still, he’s hoping to open early in the new year. (And I hear the bar area is going to be gorgeous.)
Mango’s Tropical Cafe is set to reopen on International Drive with a reimagined Mango’s Live show and an all-new menu. Friday, Dec. 10, is the official opening, so if they’ve been promising fall 2021, they made it.
Peach Valley Cafes are now offering alcohol. I have nothing to add to that.
