You may have had some great desserts at your Thanksgiving feast, but you probably didn’t have world champion quality desserts. Unless, of course, you ordered your holiday pies and cakes from Sister Honey’s on Michigan Street in Orlando.

And you didn’t have Sister Honey’s pies and cakes at your holiday feast unless you ordered them before October 1. That’s when the small bakery’s reservations for Thanksgiving filled up.

And sometime between then and D-Day (the D is for Dessert), Sister Honey’s owner Evette Rahman traveled to Dallas to compete in the dessert category at the World Food Championship.

And she won. Again. In fact, it was Rahman’s third time taking first place at the competition, something no one else has ever done.

The ninth annual competition attracted bakers and dessert makers from all over the U.S. Rahman earned more than the title – she took home $7,500 in winnings and a chance to compete against nine other category winners for $100,000 at the WFC’s Final Table competition at the end of April.

If you want to experience what a three-time champion’s pastries taste like, maybe order some for your Christmas table, you’d better hop on it – reservation slots for Christmas cakes and pies are expected to fill up before Dec. 1.

But I would imagine you can stop by the shop at 247 E. Michigan St. in the SoDo district and find something tasty on hand just about anytime.
