As I told you a couple of week ago, Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining promotion will be extended two weeks beyond its original end date of Oct. 3 to Oct. 17.

But not all of the 95 restaurants currently offering the dining deal have signed on for the extension.

Still, 74 or so will continue to offer the $37 three-course menu, including such flog favorites as Delaney’s Tavern, Rocco’s Italian Grille & Bar, Russell’s on Lake Ivanhoe, and Unreserved Food Bar at the JW Marriott Bonnet Creek.

You can see the whole list here, but there’s a caveat. The list, which was provided by Visit Orlando, originally had at least one restaurant that is not extended (I’ve deleted it from this list.) So call ahead to verify that the MagDin menu will be available when you show up. (And be sure to ask for it when you arrive – not all restaurants present it upon seating.)

• Curiously, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar is on the list of extending MagDin participants. But it’s also offering a special “Esperanza” menu through Oct. 15 to commemorate National Hispanic Heritage Month. And the menu is identical to the Magical Dining bill of fare and also priced at $37. But Magical Dining participants are required to donate $1 of every meal sold to the organization’s charities. So if you request a Magical Dining meal you’re helping out the local charities but if you say you want the Esperanza deal you’re not? I’m sure they’ll work it out somehow.
• The owners of Stasio’s Italian Deli in the Milk district plan to open a pizzeria nearby in a tiny structure on the corner of Robinson Street and Glenwood Avenue. At first the name, Alfo’s Pizza Frita startled me because it sounded like they would specialize in fried pizzas, which I admit is an under-represented niche. But the Italian word for fried is fritta, so I don’t think there’s anything to worry about. This is the second pizza venture from Stasio’s, which earlier this year announced a partnership with Pig Floyd’s to open a place in Mills 50 called Pigzza.
• I’ve said it many times: Naming a restaurant is hard.
• Not far from where Alfo’s will open, another place that used to house a pizzeria will become a Japanese restaurant. Well, it was a Pizza Hut, so for the sake of argument let’s just say it specialized in pizza. Anyway, the Pizza Hut hut in front of the Target on Maguire Avenue and across from Fashion Square Mall will be converted to Susuru JuJu and will be a retro style izakaya, according to the Facebook page of Susuru, which has a restaurant in the Lake Buena Vista area.
