Mother’s Day is sneaking up on us, just like mom used to do when she thought we were up to something.

I’m hoping that you and your mom – and all the others close to you – will be fully vaccinated by May 9 so that you can finally treat her to a proper Mother’s Day brunch. The Mother’s Day category in our Holiday Dining listings will have plenty of options for you, but consider some of our favorites.

Tap Room at Dubsdread will be featuring a version of its popular brunch buffet, with roasted leg of lamb, herb encrusted prime rib and grilled mahi mahi, among other items. Visit the website for reservation details

Tornatore’s is doing something a little different and offering a charcuterie class at noon. You and mom can learn about making your own charcuterie board with cured meats and cheeses, dried nuts, fruits and crackers. And while you’re learning you can sip on bottomless mimosas and endless glasses of wine while nibbling on appetizers and dessert. Class is $100 per person and space is limited. Call 407-292-2248.

Our friends at Mia’s Italian Kitchen will celebrate mom all weekend with two entree specials available Friday through Sunday. Choose between prosciutto wrapped chicken involtini ($26), stuffed with ricotta, parmigiano, roasted red peppers, basil, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, and roasted romanesco; or jumbo red shrimp scampi ($24), with house-made pappardelle, lemon, butter, white wine, garlic, and parsley. Reservation details at the website.

The chefs at the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek are featuring dishes they cooked with their moms as kids. Such as, Chef Justin’s Sage & Rosemary Biscuits & Gravy; Chef Alex’s Salmon Cakes; and Chef Jonathan’s Texas Sheet Cake. Reservations are required: 407-919-6300
$65 per person $35 per child (4 – 12 years of age) Complimentary (3 and under)
