Monster Mash, a “mask-for-aid ball,” to benefit restaurant recovery

The Restaurant & Allied Partnership of Central Florida, or RAPCF (which I think is pronounced rap-chif but don’t hold me to that), is sponsoring Monster Mash, a Mask-for-aid Ball to support restaurant recovery. The event is Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Dr. Phillips House at Lake Lucerne. Dr. Phillips won’t be home.

Monster Mash will feature local restaurants and other participants serving signature dishes along with beer, wine and cocktails. Among the venues participating are:

  • Stefano’s Trattoria
  • Bites and Bubbles
  • Boteco Brazilian
  • Broken Spoon
  • Frencesco’s Ristorante
  • Island Fin Poke
  • Island Time
  • Live to Thrive 101
  • Maxine’s on Shine
  • Millienia Catering
  • MX Taco
  • Old Jailhouse
  • Outpost Kitchen
  • Santiago’s Bodega
  • Uncommon Catering

Tickets are $125 for general admission and $250 for VIP all-access, which includes early entrance and an Up in Smoke Cigar & Whiskey Experience on the rooftop patio. Not sure how that’s going to work seeing that the roof of the Dr. Phillips House has quite a slant to it. I would advice you to wear shoes with non-slip soles.

It’s an outdoor event and masks will be required unless you’re drinking something or shoving food in your mouth. I don’t know if mask-for-aid should be translated as masquerade, but it’s close enough to Halloween that I don’t think anyone will mind if you want to dress up.

The important thing is to lend your support to restaurant recovery.

More details and tickets can be had at the rap-chif website.
