The Whiskey has reopened on Restaurant Row. It had closed last Friday when the governor ordered bars to stop serving on premise drinks. But the Whiskey, despite its name, is actually a restaurant at its core – you’ve had their burger, haven’t you? – so it’s back as of noon today.
Bad As’s Sandwich has opened its second location, at 1881 W. Fairbanks Ave. in Winter Park. The original, on Primrose Drive in Orlando, is a former winner of a Best Sandwich Foodster Award.
Hangry Bison, also a Foodster Award winner (Best Burger), is planning to open a second location in Winter Garden sometime later this year. The original, in Winter Park Village, opened in 2018.
UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management has been cited as one of the world’s premier hospitality and tourism schools by ShanghaiRankings (although a press release making the announcement spelled it premiere, which is the spelling you use for an opening night event – I would have deducted a point when I was an adjunct professor at the college several years ago). Its program was ranked – or ShanghaiRanked, if you will – number two in the world and number one in the U.S.
