- First Watch has reopened its Central Florida restaurants as of Monday, June 1. The popular breakfast and lunch spot closed all of its locations nationwide on April 13 after operating on a takeout and delivery basis for several weeks. New protocols include screening staff members before each shift; making face coverings and gloves available to staff; and providing single-use menus and condiments. The restaurants will continue to offer no-contact takeout and delivery. Florida restaurants are currently allowed to operate at 50 percent of capacity with a minimum of six feet between tables.
- Delaney’s Tavern is expanding its outdoor seating, adding umbrellas and outdoor air-conditioning units. Inside, plexiglass partitions are being added between booths.
- Raglan Road, the Disney Springs Irish Pub and Restaurant, will open its quick-service Cooke’s of Dublin on Wed., June 3, and the main restaurant a week later on June 10. The restaurant will offer a reduced menu, which guests can read on their mobile devices by scanning a QR code on the table. Masks will be worn by employees and are required for guests entering and leaving. (Disney Springs requires guests to wear masks.) Food will be covered from kitchen to table and a one-way traffic system will be in place.
- Piper’s Bar & Grill, a sports pub on Curry Ford Road, will become a Graffiti Junktion American Burger Bar through a licensing agreement, according to Greg Peters, Graffiti Junktion’s principal owner.
- Osprey Tavern in Baldwin Park has reopened and it would like you now to imagine its eponymous bird with a fish in its talon – the menu has gone seafood centric. Oh, it also seems to have dropped the word Tavern from its name and is now just The Osprey.
- Speaking of restaurants with birdy names, Dovecote’s founding chef has, um, flown that coop and has landed at Ravenous Pig.
