  • The Tap Room at Dubsdread will stay at Dubsdread for at least another 20 years. Steve Gunter, the owner and operator of the popular College Park restaurant says he’s signed another extension of the lease with the city of Orlando, which owns the Dubsdread Golf Course where the restaurant is housed.
  • The Habit Burger Grill chain recently closed its recently opened Central Florida locations. Apparently not enough of you made eating there a regular thing. Although Habit was new to the area, the California-based chain is 50 years old and still has 265 restaurants with plans to open a bunch more in Cambodia, of all places. If are one of the few in the area jonesing for one, you’ll find them still operating in South Florida.

  • Remember Yum Yum Cupcakes? It was one of the earlier food trucks in the area and was quite popular. However, the original owners, Joey Conicella and Alex Marin, sold it and the new owners put it up on blocks, apparently, in 2015. Now Conicella and Marin are getting back in the food business with a brick-and-mortar restaurant called Hungry Pants. (Just to be clear, the restaurant will not be serving bricks or mortar.) They’re taking over the former Carol’s Place place on South Orange Avenue. Not sure what Hungry Pants are and I really don’t want to give it much thought. I am curious whether Conicella and Marin will wear their customary bow ties at the new restaurant because they were adorable.
  • Oh, Carol’s Place is closed.
  • Noodles and Rice, a Mills 50 district restaurant that served, um, you know, is also closed.
  • The eighth annual Cows ’n Cabs will be Sat., Nov. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. this year, a little later than in years past. I mean the date not the time. It will still be in Winter Park’s West Meadow. Tickets are on sale, $120 for general admission or $160 for VIP. Get ‘em here.
