Final Dexter’s Location Sold

The last of the four Dexter’s restaurants has been sold.

Hospitality Investment Partners, which may or may not call itself HIP, has acquired the Lake Mary Dexter’s from John Hoffmeister, who was a partner with founder Dexter Richardson in the restaurants. When we told you about the sales of the other restaurants in this article last month, Hoffmeister was vague about whether he would keep or sell the Lake Mary location. “I’m possibly selling everything but not 100 percent sure,” he said at the time. He said that if he did sell to a party that has shown interest, he would likely stay on as the general manager to run things. “I expect to be here another five to 10 years,” he said.

Indeed, Hoffmeister has been retained by the new owners to stay on as manager. As previously announced, a partnership that includes Graffiti Junktion founder Greg Peters took over the Winter Park and Thornton Park locations and Tom and Holly Ziupsnys acquired the Windermere Dexter’s.

Hospitality Investment Partners is a limited liability corporation based in Orlando founded by Frank Echevarria and Stephen Facella. HIP states its goal as “building, growing, and acquiring world-class hospitality entities.” A press release announcing the Lake Mary acquisition did not list any other restaurants or businesses built, grown or acquired by the organization.

Along with Hoffmeister, the management team and staff members have been kept on.

No word on whether the Chicken Tortilla Pie will return to Lake Mary as Peters promised for his two Dexter’s locations.
