Homestead Harvest

Homestead Harvest was held October 26 on the grounds of Whisper Creek Farm at Grande Lakes Orlando Resort.

Lit by candles, artificial moons and campfires, chefs from throughout the state presented dozens of delectable dishes to attending guests.

The list of chefs this year included Norman Van Aken and Andres Mendoza of Norman’s and Camilo Velasco, chef de cuisine at 1921 by Norman Van Aken; Brandon McGlammery of Luke’s Kitchen & Ba; and Kevin Fonzo; John Janucik of JW Marriott Orlando; Stephane Cheramy; Elek Kovacs of Osprey Tavern: and James Petrakis , the Ravenous Pig. Visiting chefs included: Andrew Yeo, Miami Edition; Paula DaSilva, Burlock Coast Seafare & Spirits;
George Fistrovich, The Grill at The Ritz-Carlton Naples; Sheldon Millett, The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island; and Iron Chef participant Todd Richards. Grande Lakes’ Scott Pizzo served as host chef.

A highlight was the Oxtail Arepa from Andres Mendoza, executive chef at Norman’s at the Ritz-Carlton.

The event benefitted Fleet Farming and Frog Song Organics’ Free Mulch Incorporated program.
