Here’s the Dirt on the 2018 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

Written By Scott Joseph On March 7, 2018

2018 Epcot International Flower Garden Festival still

Another season, another International festival at Epcot.

I’ve lost track — which festival is this?

According to Epcot’s culinary director, Gregg Hannon, if this is March it must be the Flower & Garden Festival.

Check out the video below as Hannon talks about some of the food on offer this year. I sampled several dishes, too, and have some recommendations.

I attended a media day sampling recently and I have to say the Carne Guisada with black bean cake was a favorite.

The shrimp and grits was good, too, and both dishes can be found at the Florida Fresh marketplace.

The berry basket was a good vegetarian — or fruititarian — option.

And I also liked the beef brisket and pork belly slider.

The pretzel bread topped with black forest ham and gruyere just didn’t do it for me, however.

The food is an accompaniment to the featured flora set up throughout the park. And beee sure to visit the Honey Beeestro, seen in the video’s bee-roll.

The 2018 Epcot Internaitonal Flower and Garden Festival continues through May 28. As long as there isn’t some sort of freakish freeze.
