Victoria & Albert’s Earns Honor from TripAdvisor

Victoria & Albert’s must be getting tired of all the winning.

Just a couple of weeks after being named Best Fine Dining in our Foodster Awards for Independent Restaurants, the uber chic restaurant at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa was voted second-best fine dining restaurant in the country in TripAdvisor’s 2017 poll.

New York’s Daniel was in first place, Charleston Grill in South Carolina was third.

“The most amazing dining event of a lifetime,” said one commenter on the TripAdvisor website about Victoria & Albert, also gushing about having a “footstool” for her purse, though technically I suppose that would be called a pursestool. Another commenter wrote, “I can’t find the work that will do V&A’s justice,” perhaps proving her point.

Victoria & Albert’s is one of the most highly recognized restaurants in the country, earning, among other accolades, the top honors from AAA and Mobil for multiple years. Only judges for the James Beard Awards seem to be unaware of its excellence.

Victoria & Albert’s has been under the direction of executive chef Scott Hunnel for decades. He now oversees all restaurants at the Grand Floridian. Chef de cuisine Aimee Rivera is in charge of V&A’s kitchen staff on a day to day basis. General manager Israel Perez and pastry chef Erich Herbitschek have also been with Victoria & Albert’s for many years.
