Luke’s Kitchen and Bar Opens Monday

Written By Scott Joseph On January 3, 2017

LUkes concept

Luke’s Kitchen and Bar, the third concept from the people who also brough you Luma on Park and Prato, will open Monday, January 9. Unlike the other two restaurants, Luke’s will not have a Park Avenue address.

Instead, it will occupy the Maitland building that briefly was the home of Blackfin, though most people still refer to it as the former Steak & Ale. The address is 640 S. Orlando Ave.

According to a press release, Luke’s will offer classic American cuisine and cocktails. According to the release, “Luke’s Kitchen and Bar menu features soups and salads, raw bar offerings, ceviches, smokebox and grill items, sandwiches, entrees, sides and dessert. With a wide-variety of dishes on the menu, we offer something special for ever palate, from Spit-Fired Chicken with baked potato puree and mushroom jus, Peppered Prime Rib with heirloom carrots and béarnaise, Au Poivre Burger with brie, watercress, French pickles and peppercorn gravy to our Seafood Tower with Atlantic and Pacific oysters, Florida shrimp, Alaskan king crab, bay scallops, lobster and clams.” I’m exhausted just reading that.

Tim Noelke and Brandon McGlamery will expand their roles as manager and chef, respectively, though Derek Perez will be executive chef, according to the release. (It may have meant to call him chef de cuisine.) Noelke and McGlamery are known to run between the Park Avenue restaurants. Looks like they’ll need a car from now on.

There’s no information in the release or Luke’s Facebook page on whether it will be open for lunch, dinner or both. I guess we’ll find out Monday. The website is still nonfunctioning except for a message on the front page that the restaurant will open late 2016.
