Venetian Room Rebrands; Now Known as Venetian Chop House

The Venetian Room, a longtime favorite for special occasion dining and one of the last bastions of white-glove service, is rebranding and will now be known as Venetian Chop House, an upscale steakhouse.

According to a spokeswoman from the Caribe Royale, where the restaurant is located, many of the Venetian Room’s signature items will be carried over to the new menu. But “the decision to rebrand was made in order to appeal not only to our local crowd, but equally to our in-house hotel guests who many not have come prepared for a ‘jackets suggested’ type of experience.”

The Chop House’s chef is Luis Taborda. Venetian Room had been without an executive chef since Khalid Benghallem left in April of 2014.

The decor, for now at least, will remain the same, so that aspect of the elegant dining experience should continue, albeit without guests wearing the suggested jacket.

Of course, such a rebranding isn’t a surprise — we’ve been seeing a trend away from white-glove dining service for some time. What do you think? Will Venetian Chop House continue to be one of your special occasion dining destinations? Leave a comment below.
