Capriccio Grill Now Fiorenzo Italian Steakhouse

Written By Scott Joseph On October 1, 2013

Capriccio left with the ducks.

When the Peabody Orlando became Hyatt Regency Orlando Tuesday, Capriccio Grill’s name changed to Fiorenzo Italian Steakhouse. The reason for the change, said manager Chad Turner, is that Capriccio is a brand name of the Peabody organization — there is one in Memphis — so it wasn’t possible for the Hyatt Regency to keep it. The hotel’s other restaurants, Napa and the B-Line Diner, will keep their names — at least for now.

Food and beverage director John Askew was among the Peabody’s managerial staff who were let go Tuesday. The new director is Teri Rack, who, like many of the other management staff who have been brought in as replacements, comes from another Hyatt property. According to Sara K. Clarke of the Orlando Sentinel, 68 staff were laid off.

Turner said the restaurant will make subtle changes, but nothing drastic for the time being. Hyatt chefs, part of the transition team, have been in the kitchens today advising and making suggestions.
