Written By Scott Joseph On November 21, 2011

James_DuncanJames Duncan, the newly named master barista for Orlando based Barnie’s CoffeeKitchen, the rebranded Barnie’s Coffee & Tea, has won the Latte Art Challenge category at the Ultimate Barista Challenge in Shanghai.

The event took place during the 15th International Exhibition for Food, Drink, Hospitality, Foodservice, Bakery and Retail Industries. Duncan was the only representative from the United States.

“We’re so proud of James,” said president and CEO Jonathan Smiga.  “He is extremely talented, disciplined and passionate about his craft.  He’s a great asset to our team and we’re honored to have him represent our company.”

Duncan, originally from Texas, recently relocated to Central Florida to take the position of master barista as Barnie’s gears up to roll out more of its CoffeeKitchen concepts. His latte work may be seen upon his return at the Barnie’s CoffeeKitchen at 118 Park Ave. S., Winter Park.
