Here’s How to Get a Discount to the Jetport Food and Wine Party

Daniel Boulud will be among the chefs cooking at the Jetport Food and Wine Party April 9th.

The Jetport Food and Wine Party is just a couple of weeks away, on Saturday, April 9, and if you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, here’s a tip on getting a discount if you use an American Express card. This is a little circuitous — there’s probably an unnecessary step in here, but you have to do all the clicks in order to activate the discount — so follow these directions carefully.

Follow this link to the Celebration Exotic Car Festival website. On the right side of the page, look for the link that says “American Express Holders, click here for special pricing.”  Click that link and you’ll be taken to a page with the special prices. Click “Buy Tickets.” Next you’ll go to the Bocuse d’Or USA page for the Jetport event (the party benefits Bocuse d’Or). Now click “buy now” and you’ll go to the purchase page but with special pricing, $125 for general admission and $350 for VIP tickets (regular $150 and $400 respectively). VIP ticket holders will have a special area with Taittinger Champagne, top shelf liquors, caviar and waiters passing some of the food.

The VIP tickets are limited to the first 150 buyers, and I know they’ve been selling well, so don’t be surprised if only general admission tickets are available. Either way you’ll have a great time.

The Jetport event is an incredible culinary affair. (I love that they call it a party, because that’s exactly what it is.) This year the national celebrity chefs include Daniel Boulud (Daniel, DB Bistro and others) and Thomas Keller (The French Laundry, Per Se, and others), Scott Boswell (Stella! and Stanley! in New Orleans), Michael Cimarusti (Providence, Los Angeles) and Daniel Patterson (Coi, San Francisco). If you are lucky enough to snag a reservation at one of these restaurants, there isn’t any guarantee you’ll actually see these chefs there. At the Jetport party last year, Boulud was passing out samples of his food personally.

And the local celebrity chefs include Scott Hunnel (Victoria & Albert’s), Jens Dahlmann (Epcot), Brandon McGlamery (Luma on Park), Bruno Vrignon (Chefs de France), Jerome Bocuse (Chefs de France), Greg Richie (Emeril’s Tchoup Chop), Laurent Branlard (Swan & Dolphin), Kevin Fonzo (K), James Petrakis (The Ravenous Pig), Jamie McFadden (Cuisiniers and barJme) and a bunch of others. See below for the full list.

Besides the food and drink, the entertainment includes exotic cars and private jets on display, an air show, a fashion show from Saks Fifth Avenue and other fun things. It all takes place in and around a hangar that will be transformed into a massive nightclub for the evening. This is one of those events where you’ll get your money’s worth.

The Jetport Food and Wine Party is Saturday, April 9, 2011, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Kissimmee Airport. Click the link to the Jetport information site for more details, but be sure to follow the directions above to get the discount.
