New Restaurant from Former Owner of Wazzabi Opens

Written By Scott Joseph On August 3, 2013

Ta Ke Sushi, a new restaurant from the owner of the recently closed Wazzabi Sushi in Winter Park, opened Friday in the space formerly occupied by Wilfredo’s. The space, at 1421 N. Orange Ave., at in the Ivanhoe Village district, was the original location of Gargi’s, the Italian restaurant that moved across the street to lakefront property almost a decade ago.

The switch from Wazzabi to Ta Ke is quite a change in terms of space. Wazzabi, which was on Gay Road across the highway from Winter Park Village, was large and modern and included teppanyaki tables. Ta Ke is small and intimate. The restaurant has been tastefully redone, and includes a small sushi bar.

It does not yet have a website.
