Santiago’s Bodega Will Fill Logan’s Bistro Space

Written By Scott Joseph On August 9, 2012

Santiagos BodegaEXCLUSIVE — The owners of a Key West restaurant have taken over the former Logan’s Bistro space on Virginia Drive and plan to open in late November.

Santiago’s Bodega will the the second location for the tapas style restaurant, which is owned by some Kansas City transplants who said they wanted to be part of Orlando’s burgeoning food scene.

The menu will feature a variety of tapas, which, if like the Key West restaurant, will offer some traditional Spanish items, such as patatas bravas, but also wander around the European continent with such things as Greek saganaki and Roman meatballs. The restaurant will also feature a full bar.

The late November date is dependent on a smooth permitting process, to which I can only say, “You aren’t in Key West or Kansas anymore.”

Logan’s Bistro closed earlier this year when the owners were unable to reach an agreement with the landlord. The address of the restaurant is 802 Virginia Drive, Orlando, which is just west of Mills Avenue. Sip, a bar that shared the small building, is also closing soon, which makes me wonder if the Santiago’s will take over both spaces.

I’ll let you know if I hear more, but here’s a link to the Santiago’s Bodega website.
