London restaurant puts interactive ordering on the table

Written By Administrator On March 12, 2009

London Inamo, an Asian fusion restaurant in London’s Soho, is offering a Future World gimmick of interactive ordering. (I always thought a guest talking to a live waiter was interactive, but what do I know?)

At Inamo, overhead projectors display images onto the tabletop. It can show pictures of food and drink and the diner can make selections by interacting with the image. The system can also show details about the neighborhood and even order a taxi for your ride home.

All very interesting. But I’d be afraid that if I swept some crumbs off the table with the back of my hand I’d end up ording a round of drinks for everybody in the restaurant!
