In a move that brings Utah a bit closer to the 19th century, lawmakers Monday ditched a proposal that would have required restaurants with bars to build 10-foot high walls so that children would not be able to see drinks being mixed.According to parkrecord.com, “…supporters say walls would prevent kids from drinking by not allowing them to see alcohol prepared in restaurants.” And of course we know how well taking sex off the public streets has worked as a deterrent to young kids. But making restaurants retrofit their businesses with 10-foot walls? Just how tall are the kids in Utah?
A modified proposal does not have the retrofit provision, but new restaurants will be required to prepare drinks out of sight of patrons.
Sheesh, it isn’t like the disgusting sight of making sausages.
Or laws.
