Red Wine Stain Remover

StainRx Has Origins in South Florida Lab

A “new”  product for removing red wine stains, not to mention coffee, mascara, tomato sauce and blood stains, has actually been around for 40 years. Ft. Lauderdale’s Cambridge Diagnostic Products produces a substance called Erado-Sol, which it has sold for decades to hospitals, doctors and health laboratories to StainRX clean medical equipment, hands and lab coats. Now it’s being marketed to careless consumers as StainRx as a means to remove the aforementioned splotches from clothing, rugs and other fabrics.

StainRx uses no peroxide or bleach, and is most effective when used immediately (chainsaw massacre types would be advised to keep some handy). One bit of promotional material, shown here, demonstrates that the product is so effective that it can suck the red out of a strawberry. I’m not sure why you would want to do that but there you go.

I’m wondering if you put a few drops into a bottle of red wine would you produce a blanc de noir?

StainRx is available at StainRx.com. You can see a really cheesy video of the product in action at 2BASnob, which also sells StainRx.
