New Life for Townsend's Plantation?

Daphne Sashin reported in the Orlando Sentinel today that a new tenant plans to move into the old Victorian mansion in Apopka that most locals still refer to as Townsend's Plantation, even though that restaurant has been closed since 1997.

The most recent tenant was the Captain and the Cowboy (maybe that should be most recent tenants?), which never did find its niche. That name, by the way, was meant to denote seafood (Captain) and steaks (Cowboy), but most people thought it sounded like either a '70s singing group or the name of an X-rated movie. The owners of Capt/Cow were evicted by the City of Apopka earlier this year for not paying the rent. Funny how that works.
Next up, according to Sashin, is a hotel management group that not only plans another restaurant but expects to be open by Christmas. Yes, this Christmas. I will be very surprised, but I have been before.
