Disney’s Victoria & Albert’s awarded coveted 5 Diamond rating 10th consecutive year

Written By Scott Joseph On November 18, 2009

Scott HunnelVictoria & Albert’s, the top-of-the-line restaurant in Disney’s dining pantheon, has been awarded its 10th consecutive AAA Five Diamond rating, one of only three Florida restaurants to earn that ultimate classification.

In fact, only 52 restaurants of the of the more than 60,000 that AAA rates in North America achieve Five Diamond status. According to AAA’s ratings guidelines,  Five Diamond restaurants must “consistently provide a world-class experience. This is ‘haute cuisine’ at its best. Menus are cutting edge, using only the finest ingredients available. Food is prepared in a manner that is highly imaginative and unique. The combination of technique and ingredients is extraordinary, reflecting the impeccable artistry and awareness of highly-acclaimed chefs. A maître d’ leads an expert service staff that exceeds guest expectations by attending to every detail in an effortless and unobtrusive manner.”

Sounds like Vicky & Al’s to me. The award is a testament to the skills and talent of chef Scott Hunnel (pictured) and the attention to detail of general manager Israel Perez, as well as the ooh-and-ahh inspiring pastries of Erich Herbitschek.

In Florida, only two other restaurants, L’Escalier at the Breakers and The Restaurant at the Four Seasons, both in Palm Beach, have earned the top honor, nine years and 15 years respectively.

Kudos to the entire crew at V&A, and to the AAA raters for recognizing excellence.
