K Restaurant to Discontinue Lunch Service

Only three more chances for $5 Burger Wednesdays.

K Restaurant Wine Bar, the popular College Park destination, will discontinue lunch service in the New Year. Chef and owner Kevin Fonzo announced in a Facebook post that he is stopping noontime meal service so that he can dedicate more time to projects associated with his charity organization, the Kevin Fonzo Foundation.

Fonzo has been active for several years as an instructor and consultant for the Orlando Junior Academy and has been spearheading the Emeril Lagasse Kitchen House and Culinary Garden currently under construction at the school. Fonzo says the kitchen is on schedule to be completed in late February or early March.

To offset the loss of lunch hours, K will begin regular Sunday evening dinners. Previously, Fonzo only opened the restaurant on Sundays for special occasions, such as the recent Feast of Fonzo. And he promises to offer the popular Truffle Burger on the evening menu. I wouldn’t count on it being $5, though.
