Burnett has Left Osprey Tavern

Written By Scott Joseph On December 12, 2016

Joseph BurnettJoseph Burnett has left Osprey Tavern. Austin Boyd, the chef at Seito Sushi, which sits across the street from the Baldwin Park restaurant, is overseeing both restaurants for the time being.

Jason Chin, who owns both Seito Sushi and Osprey Tavern said in a statement through his publicist, “We are so appreciative of the time Chef Joe Burnett dedicated to The Osprey Tavern. He helped build a great team and was an integral part of our opening year.” Burnett, who had previously been chef de cuisine at the Ravenous Pig, joined Osprey Tavern in May of last year, shortly after the restaurant opened.

Chin’s statement continued: “That said, with the new year brings change and we are excited about this next chapter for The Osprey Tavern. Our kitchen is working hard on some new and exciting menu changes that we can’t wait to share with our guests.”

Early word is that the menu is being made more “tavernlike” and more approachable, both in terms of style of cuisine and cost.

This story is developing.
