Word comes that Rosario Spagnolo, owner of Terramia Italian Wine Bar and Ristorante in Altamonte Springs, will open his new venture, Maestro Cucina Napoletana, today. The restaurant, at 528 S. Park Ave., Winter Park, had a soft opening Monday night. Spagnolo said the restaurant will open to the public for lunch at 11 a.m.
Spagnolo is partnering with Antonio Martino, a Brazilian businessman who owns several McDonald’s franchises in that country.
Maestro, which will serve lunch and dinner daily, features the cuisine of the Campania region of Southwestern Italy that includes the city of Naples. Neapolitan style pizzas, baked in a newly installed oven, are a prominent part of the menu.
Maestro took over the space that had briefly been home to Makis Place, a franchise featuring temaki hand rolls and sushi from, coincidentally (or not), Brazil.
You can see the menu at Maestro’s website.
