Reading Between the Wines is April 20

Written By Scott Joseph On March 30, 2016

BERG DreamLoverIt’s time to start planning your April events, and I want to make sure you put Reading Between the Wines on your calendar for April 20.

RBTW is the annual food and wine fundraiser for the Adult Literacy League, which helps adults 18 and older gain employment and economic self-sufficiency through one-on-one tutoring and classes in reading, writing, math, computer skills and other key studies. The event features food from restaurants we like — Morimoto Asia of Disney Springs, Swine & Sons, 4Rivers Smokehouse and The COOP, Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant of Disney Springs, Urban Tide at Hyatt Regency Orlando and Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen at Walt Disney World Resort — and wines to go with the food provided by Darden Restaurants and PRP Wine International.

The evening also features a silent auction for such things as airline tickets and theme park passes. And because the evening is all about literacy, New York Times bestselling author Elizabeth Berg (“The Dream Lover”; “The Pull of the Moon”; “Open House”) will talk about her latest book and be on hand to talk about writing and sign copies.

Adult Literacy League does good work and you could easily just write a check to support them. So the $85 ticket price for an evening of food, wine and literature seems embarrassingly inexpensive.

Reading Between the Wines will be held at the Orlando Science Center on Wednesday, April 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. Click this link to purchase tickets, or call 407-422-1540, ext. 111.
