Cocoa Latte is now David Ramirez Chocolates

Written By Scott Joseph On February 9, 2012

valentine_2_piece_insideYou may recall that a few months ago I told you about Cocoa Latte Chocolate Shop & Coffee Bar, which was a new endeavor for one of the area’s finest pastry chef and confectioner, David Ramirez, and his wife, Nicole. I visited the combination candy kitchen and retail outlet the two had opened in South Orlando back then and a few things came to mind.

The first thing was, this is seriously good chocolate. That wasn’t so surprising. As I said, Ramirez, whose day job has him making scrumptious sculptures and pastries at Rosen Shingle Creek, is among our most talented culinary professionals. Each piece is so perfect and beautiful that it looks like jewelry.

But I also thought that the space on Central Florida Parkway, just off South Orange Blossom Trail, was a bit remote and hidden for much walk-in traffic. And, I thought, the name Cocoa Latte doesn’t convey the special nature of the product.

So I’m happy to announce that there has been a name change. Cocoa Latte is now known as David Ramirez Chocolates, which makes so much more sense. The chocolates are now, literally, a signature brand.

As for the location, there’s been some development there, too. The South Orlando location is open by appointment only now. But the Ramirez’s have made arrangements to sell their chocolates at some of the ABC Fine Wine & Spirits locations around town. For now, and more importantly, for Valentine’s Day, you can find special heart chocolates hand-crafted by David Ramirez at the ABC store on South Orange Avenue, just south of Michigan Street only. Chocolates will arrive in the other area ABC stores in the coming weeks.

If you need more choices for your sweetie, give Nicole Ramirez a call to arrange a visit to the store. Call 407-816-7400, or visit the contact page at davidramirezchocolates.com.

Oh, and I’m pleased to welcome David Ramirez Chocolates as advertisers on the flog.
