Max & Meme Cafe

max and memeCame across a nice little diner in Longwood the other day. I was looking for a different restaurant, one that didn’t seem to be at the address I had been given. After making a couple of passes and not finding it, I saw Max & Meme Cafe and decided to go inside.

I left quite happy. We’re not talking oh-my-god wonderful, but the food was pretty much standard fare for a dinerlike cafe.

At the suggestion of my server (whose playfulness and good nature added to the enjoyment), I had the pot roast lunch, a full plate of tender, falling-apart tender meat with a plop of mashed potatoes holding a well of dark gravy and steamed green beans and carrots. More than enough to eat, and priced under $9. What’s not to like?

M&M also has a full roster of breakfast items, and the BLTs at the next table looked so good I almost ordered one to go.

As for the place I couldn’t find, I’ve already forgotten what it was.

Max & Meme Cafe is at 1050 State Road 434, Longwood. It is open for breakfast and lunch daily. It does not seem to have a website. The phone number is 407-429-4956.

I have eaten at this place many times. food was great, atmosphere is nice too. the Chicken fried chicken breakfast is my favorite! I have it almost weekly.
thank you Scott! the horrible construction on 434 makes it difficult to see this place.

Went on your advice and had breakfast this morning, no one greeted us when we walked in, 2 people standing behind the counter, we asked if we should wait to be seated per the sign we stood by for a couple of minutes, they didn't respond so we grabbed a booth, those same 2 headed outside, no once came over (there were only 3 other tables with customers) and 3 waitstaff so we went to the counter to see if we were supposed to order there, they said they would bring us some menus, when the food came out the chicken fried steak tasted/was sour, they took it back and brought out a fresh replacement, no one ever came over to check on us, or follow up on the new chicken, as we left we got a "goodbye" from someone who may,or may not have been" Max" from behind the counter...we should have walked out when the 2 employees walked outside before we ever sat down...won't be going back.
