Local Restaurants Participate In Fundraiser

Fundraiser to benefit Make-A-Wish

Kissimmee Airport will be the scene Friday evening for a food and wine festival aimed at the jet set — literally.

The event, part of the Celebration Exotic Car Festival and benefitting Make-A-Wish Foundation, will take place in a private jet hangar transformed into a nitghtclub for the evening. More than 20 local restaurants, including Chefs de France, Portobello and Memories of India, will be serving dishes to the patrons, along with wine and spirits, while they check out the cars and private jets on display. The evening will also feature a fashion show and a James Bond 007 stunt show. I expect to see someone jump out on one of those jets at 30,000 feet wearing a dinner jacket.

The party starts at 7 p.m.. Tickets, which are $100 per person, and more details may be obtained at the Celebration Exotic Cars Web site.  Here’s a list of participating restaurants and distributors:
