Virgin Olive Market Closing

Written By Scott Joseph On April 29, 2014

virgin oliveVirgin Olive Market will close at the end of Friday. The cute little sandwichery opened in 2007 in Winter Park then moved to a space near Citrus Restaurant north of downtown Orlando in 2009. It had taken over a coffee shop and seemed to succeed. But Tiffany Carr, who owns the operation with her husband, Robert Harris, said that “it’s been a rough couple of years” and that now that the lease is up they are going to take a little break.

When VOM opened on North Orange Avenue several construction projects were planned that made the location a desirable one. “Then the economy took a dump,” said Carr. Now, she adds, “everything is getting built, and this will probably be a great location in a couple of years.”

But for them the toll has been taken. Adding to the troubles with the economy, the couple opened two other spots that didn’t work out.

Virgin Olive Market will continue to serve through Friday, May 2.
