Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar, the South Florida eatery and drinkery, will open its fifth location Thursday, Sept. 13, in the former Samba Room on Sand Lake Road’s Restaurant Row. The grand opening event, with an open bar and guacamole and chip stations, is open to the public from 7 to 10 p.m.
Rocco’s Tacos was started in West Palm Beach in2007 by Rocco Mangel, a New York native whose grandfather managed the famed Copacabana nightclub. He has since opened three other RT&TBs in Boca Raton, Ft. Lauderdale and Palm Beach Gardens. The Orlando link will be the small chain’s northernmost location and its largest at 8500 square feet. The Sand Lake Road Rocco’s will also feature lakefront dining, and what the restaurant claims is the largest selection of tequila in the Southeastern United States.
Mangel is known to hop up on the bar when visiting one of his restaurants and pouring Patron down the gullets of willing patrons.
As you might gather from the name, Rocco’s specializes in Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine. Guacamole prepared tableside is a specialty. Ken Stevens is the executive chef.
Following the grand opening Thursday, Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar will be open for lunch and dinner daily with late hours nightly.
The address is 7468 W. Sand Lake Road, Orlando. Here’s a link to the Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar website. The phone number is 407-226-0550. {jcomments on}
