A listening room is about to become a tasting room. I told you a while back that Judson’s Live, the terrific new venue at the Dr. Phillips Center, was planning a series of wine tasting events featuring master sommelier George Miliotes, owner of Wine Bar George at Disney Springs.
Now I can tell you that the first in an initial series of three events titled “Tasting with
Master Sommelier George Miliotes at Judson’s Live” will be Sunday, April 7, at 1:30 p.m. Subsequent tastings will be May 5 and June 2.
According to Judson’s site, Miliotes will host “an intimate wine tasting workshop, sharing access to diverse and coveted varietals while teaching guests the art of blind tasting.”
Tickets are $130 per person and includes six three-ounce glasses of wine (three white, three red) and a shareable charcuterie board. It’s unclear if you attend by yourself it you’ll be required to share your charcuterie with others.
In an email, Miliotes told me: “All three experiences will be different. All wines are classic examples from classic regions (and delicious).”
Having had the privilege of attending classes led by Miliotes, I can tell you that not only does he have a masterful knowledge of wine, he has an easy going style of sharing that knowledge and demystifying a complex subject. Be prepared to learn something new. Tickets here.
