Marjorie Myers, owner of Paco’s, dies

Written By Administrator On April 14, 2009

Marjorie Myers, the owner of Paco’s Mexican restaurant on Fairbanks Avenue in Winter Park, died Saturday after a long battle with cancer. She was 59.

Paco’s is a local legend, one of a handful of restaurants that have managed to last longer than a quarter century. People certainly didn’t keep going back because of the decor, which was decidedly downscale. And anyone familiar with Mexican or Tex-Mex food wouldn’t call Paco’s menu authentic. So you have to believe that a restaurant like Paco’s endured because of the people involved in it. Sometimes that’s all you need.
